Rendered new-build homes on a tree-lined street in Bordon, Hampshire

Working in Bordon

Bordon is home. MC6 Exterior Cleaning is based in the town, which means no travel charges, quick quote visits and a team that knows the difference between a Prince Philip Park new-build and a 1960s married quarter on the old garrison estates.

The regeneration of Whitehill & Bordon has brought hundreds of rendered, block-paved homes to the town, and they are now a few years old — exactly the point at which north-facing render starts to green and jointing sand starts to wash out. Around them, the pine woods of Woolmer Forest and the heathland of Broxhead Common shed needles, pollen and moss onto every roof and gutter in town.

Property types we see in Bordon

A mix of recent new-build estates with silicone render and block paving, former MOD housing with concrete tile roofs, and older bungalows and semis around Lindford, Headley and Kingsley. Woodland on every side keeps roofs mossy and gutters full.

Rendered new-build, Bordon

North- and east-facing elevations had turned orange and green. A single low-pressure soft-wash treatment killed the growth on the day and the render returned to its original off-white over the following fortnight.
