About this service
Brick and stone are hard-wearing, which is exactly why people assume they can be blasted clean. In reality, older bricks have a fired outer skin that a pressure washer strips away, lime mortar washes out in minutes, and composite cladding scars permanently under a close jet.
MC6 matches the method to the material. Soft washing handles biological growth on brick and cladding; steam cleaning tackles carbon staining and grime on stone and heritage brick; and low-pressure rinsing keeps it all safe. It is slower than blasting, and it is the difference between a wall that looks better and one that needs repointing.
Part of Walls & Glass. Low-pressure biocide treatments for render and brickwork, and reverse-osmosis pure water for windows, conservatories and solar panels — a spot-free finish with no ladders on your walls.

Why it matters
What goes wrong with the wrong method
- 01
Pressure washing opens the face of soft brick, which then absorbs water and spalls in frost.
- 02
Lime and weak mortar joints are washed out, leaving the wall needing repointing.
- 03
Modern composite and fibre-cement cladding is easily marked by a concentrated jet.
- 04
Untreated algae simply regrows because the spores have been spread, not killed.

Test patch
A small area is cleaned first so you can see the result and we can confirm the approach.
- 03
Clean
Soft wash, steam or low-pressure rinse across the elevation, working top down.
- 04
Detail and rinse
Sills, plinths and joints are detailed and everything is rinsed with pure water.

The kit that makes it safe and thorough
Steam cleaning system
Superheated low-pressure steam lifts grime from stone and brick without abrasion.
Soft-wash pump
Applies masonry-safe biocide at low pressure across large elevations.
Pure-water rinse
Mineral-free rinse so cladding and glass dry without marks.
Benefits
What brick & cladding does for your property
Structure preserved
Faces and mortar remain sound — no repointing bill after the clean.
Right for every material
Heritage brick, sandstone, render and modern cladding all handled appropriately.
Commercial ready
Ideal for cladding on offices, retail units and apartment blocks.
Honest expectations. We will always tell you before we start if a surface has damage that cleaning cannot fix — cracked tiles, failed pointing, UV-yellowed plastic — so there are no surprises on the day.
FAQs
Brick & Cladding questions
Yes. Green algae on brick responds very well to soft washing, and the wall keeps improving for a few weeks as the treatment works.
